DOUBLE HEADERS
The Management Committee have reviewed their position on Double Fixtures for all leagues, in the light comments received.
The problem at present is there are not enough Saturdays to cover the league programme in some of the age groups and divisions, and generally the league is trying to address the problem were games now go into May and many clubs do not have the facilities in May because it engrosses into the cricket season.
The current weather conditions either frost or waterlogged pitches may go on for further weeks yet, and the success of teams in the Hampshire Cup has added to the fixture congestion.
HOWEVER, THE MANAGEMENT COMMITTEE HAVE DECIDED THAT CLUBS CAN PLAY DOUBLE FIXTURES IF THEY WISH OR THEY CAN MAKE ALTERNATIVE ARRANGEMENTS, BOTH TEAMS MUST E-MAIL THE LEAGUE SECRETARY AGREEING THE REVISED DATE.
If they make alternative arrangements and they then cannot complete their commitment through lack of players or distance to travel the outcome of the games will go to the Breach of Rules Committee for a decision.
I will leave all fixtures as they stand on the web site unless I hear from teams involved.
If teams can play fixtures over the Easter Saturday, bring games forward or play midweek this will help.
This decision comes into force immediately and will be ratified at the MC meeting on the 10th March.
All double fixtures already played will stand.
This e-mail should cover all the e-mails I have received over the last few days.
Please make sure your managers are aware, even though I have e-mailed.
